ESC Clermont Business School Strengthens Its Presence in China with the Opening of a Campus in Beijing

ESC Clermont Business School is fortifying its footprint in Beijing with the inauguration of a campus in the Chinese capital on January 8, 2024. Aligned with the school’s strategic plan ‘REVEAL 2022-2027,’ this expansion is made possible through the support of BLCU, a partnering Chinese university. In addition, ESC Clermont BS will establish a permanent presence, with an appointed office, at the French Chamber of Commerce in China.

Beijing Campus Inauguration: A Collaborative Unveiling with a Strategic Partner

In May 2018, ESC Clermont Business School signed a memorandum of understanding with the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), located in Beijing. This Chinese university, with a strong international focus, has more than 386 partnerships with other universities, including the prestigious Harvard Business School. It welcomes students from over 100 different nationalities each year.

This marked the initiation of a collaboration that has empowered our school to fortify its influence in the Chinese capital. In 2021, ESC Clermont BS received approval from both French and Chinese authorities for the relocation of its MSc – Master of Science in Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) program to Beijing. Remarkably, it stood as the sole French institution to secure such validation, underscoring the excellence of its technical, professional, and academic training.

The MSc BIA, which was officially launched in April 2022 at BLCU’s facilities, has already welcomed nearly 150 students. The program features two cohorts annually – one in spring for working professionals seeking continuing education and another in October for recent graduates with a Benke (Chinese bachelor’s degree).

In 2024, ESC Clermont Business School solidifies its footprint in Beijing by formally inaugurating its campus at both BLCU and the French Chamber of Commerce in China. These strategic partnerships ensure dedicated facilities, encompassing classrooms, offices, and student accommodation, to cater to the comprehensive needs of our students.

Establishing a campus in Beijing alongside our partner BLCU signifies an open door to the world! Our school has consistently prioritized an international strategy as a key developmental focus. The inauguration of this new campus in Beijing serves as a compelling testament to our attractiveness and a tangible manifestation of our REVEAL strategic plan.

Immersion in Beijing: Various Opportunities for ESC Clermont BS Students

Our students can now participate in a relocated semester in Beijing during the second semester of their pre-Master’s year. Bachelor students can also follow a relocated semester or an extended summer school and write a report on this cultural discovery experience.

A cohort of around 15 undergraduate students from both programs is planned for the 2024-2025 academic year at the Beijing campus.

All students will have the opportunity to try Mandarin if they wish, and internship opportunities in the Chinese capital, including at the French Chamber of Commerce in China, will be offered.

This key partnership will also promote pedagogical and scientific collaborations between professors from ESC Clermont Business School and BLCU. The ESC Clermont Business School Office at the French Chamber of Commerce in China will enhance the school’s presence in Beijing by creating relationships with Chinese companies, French companies based in China, graduate placement in China, and networking for alumni working in China.
