How to Apply: A dossier must be submitted with all necessary documents proving eligibility. Applications are only possible after arriving in France.

Scholarship Amount: 5% to 20% reduction on tuition fees.

Selection Criteria: A school committee will evaluate each application based on three criteria:

Student Loans

Several countries offer student loans on favorable terms for studying abroad. These loans are often subsidized and have reduced interest rates.

Partial Deferment Loans:

With this type of loan, you pay interest during your studies and start repaying the principal loan and remaining interest after graduation.

Full Deferment Loans:

With this type of loan, you start repaying the loan and interest only after completing your studies. You only pay the loan insurance during your studies.

State-Guaranteed Student Loans:

To facilitate access to loans for students, some banks offer state-guaranteed student loans.

This system allows students without financial support from a family member or personal contribution to access student loans.

Banks offering this type of loan may provide up to €15,000 for a maximum period of 10 years.

Banks offering this service include Société Générale, Crédit Mutuel, C.I.C., Banques Populaires, and Caisses d’Épargne from the BPCE group.

Scholarships and State Aid

In addition to the benefits related to student status, you can also apply for financial aid for your studies depending on your situation.

  • CROUS Aid
The CROUS (Regional Center for University and School Works) is a public organization that aims to promote the living and working conditions of students.

  • Housing Aid
To help pay your rent and utilities, you can benefit from housing aid (APL, ALS, ALF) provided by the Caisse d’Allocations Familiales (Caf).
    Learn More
  • Emergency One-Time Aid
This aid ensures you can continue your studies despite a serious situation during the academic year. Your situation will be certified by a social evaluation.

Did you know?

Are you a student from a non-European country? You will need to apply for your visa directly at the French consulate in your country.

To apply for your “student visa,” you will need to prove that you have sufficient funds to cover at least one year of study in France (€615 per month for 12 months, a minimum of €7,380*). The most common way to prove your financial resources is the Attestation de Virement Irrévocable (Blocked Account Bank Statement) included with your visa application. This document is issued by a bank or other financial institution based on a security deposit in a blocked account.

Students from the African continent can consult the bank statement service offered by our partner Studely, a French company present across the African continent. Studely can issue an Attestation de Virement Irrévocable and help you access French real estate offers to find accommodation in Clermont-Ferrand.

*Note: This amount does not include tuition fees.
